Easily create professional looking transitions between your video clips by adding fades, dissolve, or other dynamic effects in elevate.io

Adding transitions between clips can really improve your edits, and now adding them in elevate.io is as easy as a quick drag and drop.

  1. Open the Effects panel

Head to the Effects panel on the left-hand side of your editor, and select the Transitions tab.

  1. Drag and drop a transition

Let's start with a basic dissolve - we can just drag and drop that right onto the transition point. You can snap the transition block to the left side or to the right side of that transition point, or centre it over the middle.

Note: You always need enough extra footage on the end of those clips to apply the transition. If there isn't enough, trim the ends of the clips at the transition point to create space.

  1. Adjust the transition

If you click on the transition, you can grab the ends and adjust its duration. You can also go into the transitions panel on the right-hand side of the screen, and switch the transition type, its duration, or set it to run in reverse. Remember, the more you trim the end of your clips, the longer your transition can be.

You'll also find you can add transitions to your text or shapes to create cool effects like title reveals.
