Adding markers help you keep track of what’s happening in your video, so editing stays simple and clear.

Timeline markers are a great way to stay organized while editing - whether you're noting important moments, planning out sections, or collaborating with a team.

Add a marker to your timeline

To add markers to your timeline in elevate.io, simply press the letter M on your keyboard and a marker will appear at your current playhead position. You can also click the marker button located on the right side, just above of the timeline.

Label a marker

If you press M twice or click the marker button twice, you'll bring up a window to allow you to change the name, the placement time, or delete your marker.

Add a marker to a clip

If your playhead is over a selected clip, the marker will be applied to that clip (not the timeline).

Snap to markers for precision

Holding the shift button while dragging the playhead will snap your playhead to markers as you pass over them.
